Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 25 October 2026, delivered a keynote address at the ASEAN Dialogue: Regional Integration and Investment Nexus, on the sidelines of the 9th World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar. In his remarks, Dr. Kao outlined four priorities for ASEAN’s collective action: strengthening investment in strategic areas, including energy, critical minerals and food security; advancing digital and knowledge-based industries; accelerating sustainable development and the green transition; and deepening global investment partnerships. As a panelist during the panel discussion, Dr. Kao also highlighted the role of ASEAN integration, transparency and regulatory certainty in strengthening investor confidence and attracting FDI.
